About me

Well, that's me. My name is Markus Griesser and I was born on 27. February 1982 in Villach > Kärnten > Austria > Europe. I have a brother named Alexander (his website) and - of course - parents living in Fürnitz. I am currently residing in Villach, the wonderful town in the heart of Kärnten (a bit PR).
To pay the bills I am working as a developer in a small but global playing software company here in Villach. We are developing a HVAC application as our main product which is available on AutoCAD and Allplan. The main part of my work is system near programming for both plattforms. The products name is AX3000 and it is completely written in C++.
In my spare time I like to go out with friends, watch DVDs, play games, read books and doing sports. Programming is a big part of my life an therefore I am very interessted in everything related to it. When I first started programming with .NET a few years ago I was overwhelmed by its simplicity an although powerful features. With .NET, programming comes to the point what programming should be. I do not want to waste my time with difficult UI-Design (as in C++) or importing DLL-Functions for everything that cannot be done (Visual Basic). Focusing the business-logic and not digging arround with pointers and other crap. I am hardly waiting on Visual Studio 2008 with .NET 3.5 and XAML because the possibilities are again increasing. What I have seen up to now is amazing...


Well, another thing I am very proud of is my car, as you can see here:

It's a Mercedes Benz CLK 200, build 1997. The nice guy opening the door for me is my friend Christian and my personal chaffeur :)
10 years old, 235000 km, 136 PS and still driving with no problem. I simply love this car. But if I had enough money, my favourite would be a Ford Mustang 2005. Just dreaming...
